CDS Global to Shut Down Red Oak facility

CDS Global announced closure of its mail processing operation in Red Oak. This decision as per the company is been taken as a part of a restructuring of their organization.

With the shutting down of its Red Oak unit the company plans to lay off 200 full-time, part-time and temporary employees. All functions will be moved to Harlan and Boone, two existing Iowa sites. This move will also cause a loss of 70 positions at the company’s Des Moines facility. The company has promised to offer severance and outplacement services to employees affected by this move.

The company is constantly transforming itself and its operations due to the digital revolution. The decision of loosing their valued and trustworthy employees was not easy. They say they will always value every employee because of them the company functions and grows and will try their best to relocate their employees affected by the closure of its Red Oak unit.

CDS Global has 14 operating locations in the U.S. and around the world. They are the largest outsource provider to the magazine industry and the world. The company head says most of the magazines around the world are churned out by the Iowa group be it Harlan, Iowa, or Red Oak, Iowa, or Boone, Iowa. The digital technology has taken tool over many such successful companies.
